Christmas has always been the best time for artists to show their best work, and this year is no exception for Newgrounds. Seeing what new art is behind each present is an engaging thrill that never gets old, and the additional effort put into this interactive widget really makes it a treat.

May next Christmas be just as satisfying.

I can see this game as a foundation for a much bigger and better sequel. It's a little rough around the edges, but it was made in a short time period after all.

I like the concept behind the game, but I wish I could manually aim the gun. It gets frustrating when I have to wait for the thing to line up with where I want to shoot, which isn't much time when I'm surrounded by enemies.

As much as I want to like this game, it's too frustrating. The premise is certainly interesting, and the art and audio are very atmospheric. But the controls are a pain to deal with, being poorly
introduced and difficult to work with. The helmet keeps cracking like a ceramic vase with minor bumps that shouldn't be doing damage. This game could have used some play testing to mitigate these problems.

It's always nice to have a platformer that simply focuses on exploration itself. The art and music really sets the mood for a calm stroll through the woods, and movement is fluid and effortless.

I just wish the boxes would have been marked on the map. I also want to know what the music for the boss is.

Kajenx responds:

The music for the boss is just a 15 second loop I made. What you hear in the game is all that exists!

This is truly a wonderful encapsulation of not just the spirit of Christmas, but also the creativity of the community and their wonderful creations. It shows how Newgrounds remained a strong force of artist-driven content in an everchanging Internet while evolving into something greater than when it first started. Myself and others hope that this site grows even stronger in the future. I wish you all happy holidays and a blessed New Year.

Not too bad considering this is your first game. You can greatly expand on this with new features like alternate color palettes for the fox, new environments, and additional activities to make the simulation feel more authentic. This has the potential to be so much more if you put the effort in.

It's definitely a well constructed platformer in the vein of old school Mario and similar titles. I just wish there was a checkpoint system for convenience.
